The Prosperity Pillar focuses on ensuring that all can enjoy prosperous and fulfilling lives and that economic, social and technological progress occurs in a sustainable manner. It includes five SDGs: SDG 7 on affordable and clear energy; SDG 8 on decent work and economic growth; SDG 9 on industry, innovation and infrastructure; SDG 10 on reduced inequalities; and SDG 11 on sustainable cities and communities.
The Prosperity Pillar is co-led by the ILO and UNIDO, who are undertaking an initial scoping exercise. It is expected that synthesis work will begin in the fourth quarter of 2023, with the first results available for the 2024 HLPF and a full report in time for the Summit of the Future (September 2024).
